The Wanderers Hostel Shkoder Albania

Overall: 8/10

Location.

The Wanderers Hostel Shkoder is situated in a prime location within Shkoder’s city centre, with easy foot access to the main bus terminal for good transport links from Tirana, or other cities in the Balkan region. It is located within an alley giving it a secret feeling in a bustling city centre.

The Rozafa castle attraction is located around 5km away, perfect for a thirty minute bike ride (available to rent at hostel for €3 per day), alternatively a longer leisurely stroll while immersing in the local cultural surroundings.

There are several cheap restaurants and cafe’s close by to the hostel, in the pedestrianised zone of the city.

Vibe:

The hostel’s location makes it feel like a secret location, offering a sense of community.

For the nights I stayed in the hostel, there were social drinks including cocktails for a very reasonable price.

A chill in the garden hammock was also perfect after a full day exploring Shkoder by bicycle.

Some evenings the Hostel also offers some local Albanian dishes which offers an authentic travel experience.

Solo-Traveller Suitability:

This Wanderers hostel is a very good hostel to stay as a solo-traveller, as it encourages socialising, furthermore puts activities' and themed food/movie nights on.
